Mastodon
If you are Music/Arts organization, particularly in Wales why not join us in a growing community via federated social medium Mastodon? This has no adverts and strong encouragment of practises which enhance accessibility (eg there’s a much better level of alt-text than on many other social media platforms). People often find the discourse there less confrontational, more accepting and fun than X. It’s part of a refreshing general communications trend called the Fediverse.

Mastodon differs from many other social media platforms in that it isn’t controlled by a single company (which may change ownership under you). Instead it’s a federation of instances which can share content. (In the same way that there are lots of email providers such as Apple, gmail, Microsoft, but you can follow and communicate with users on these other platforms.)
In Wales we benefit from a great instance at toot.wales/tŵt.cymru whose introduction says:
We are the Mastodon social network for Wales and the Welsh, at home and abroad! Y rhwydwaith cymdeithasol annibynnol i Gymru, wedi’i bweru gan Mastodon!

If you want to use an app on your phone there are official (free) apps available, alongside a lively 3rd party ecosystem—check these out. For desktop computers try the web site elk.zone.

Bluesky
Bluesky has enjoyed a boost in recent months and also has the aim of decentralisation. The project was originally set up by the co-founder of Twitter—it has the ambience of that platform prior to its recent sale, which many prefer.
